Summer 2016 at the National Cinema Museum

The National Cinema Museum will be open regularly during the entire summer period, moreover, on Tuesday 9, 16 and Tuesday 23 August 2016, the Museum will open exceptionally from 9.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.

On Ferragosto Day, Monday 15 August 2016, the Museum will be open regularly at these same hours, 9.00 a.m.-8.00 p.m.

 

In addition to the wide-ranging, interesting and original permanent showcase, it will be possible during the entire period to visit Hecho en Cuba. Cinema in Cuban graphics. Posters from the Bardellotto collection, the most extensive and comprehensive exhibition ever organised on Cuban film posters. The exhibition curators are Luigino Bardellotto and the National Cinema Museum and it features over 200 items, some, especially sketches and layouts, being one-off pieces never exhibited before in Europe, recounting the history of Cuban cinematographic graphic design from 1959 to our days.

 

Sunday activities will continue for the whole summer period: the History of animated drawings visit at 11.00 a.m. for children and families, which retraces the most significant stages of animated design throughout the Museum collections, starting from early experiments on movement illusions; the Discovering the Cinema Museum afternoon guided tour at 4.00 p.m., for getting to know the Museum and its marvels, from shadow-play to the Lumière brothers, to the great stars in movie history.

 

From Wednesday 10 to Sunday 21 August, it will be possible to take the Discovering the Cinema Museum guided tour for all the family, daily at 4.00 p.m.

 

Furthermore, on Monday 15 August 2016, for the occasion of Ferragosto, it will be possible to take part in the History of animated drawings visit at 11.00 a.m. for children and families, and in the Discovering the Cinema Museum guided tour at 4.00 p.m.

 

The cost for guided tours, both for the morning one at 11.00 a.m. and for the afternoon one at 4.00 p.m., will be 5.00 euro for the visit (free up to 3 years of age) in addition to reduced admission to the Museum (8.00 euro for adults, 3.00 euro for children and juniors aged 6-18), and admission free for children up to 5 years of age, the disabled, accompaniers, Museums Season Card holders, Torino Piemonte Card. Booking is advised.

- Cinema Massimo, from Thursday 21 July to Wednesday 24 August 2016 included.

- “Mario Gromo” Library/Mediatheque, from Monday 1 to Friday 26 August 2016 included.
