The Seeyousound - International Music Film Festival, reaching its 4th edition this year, is back at the Cinema Massimo

Cinema Massimo – From 26 January to 4 February 2018

The Seeyousound - International Music Film Festival, the first festival in Italy dedicated to international music-themed cinema, is returning with its 4th edition: ten festival days with a packed programme divided into three competitive sections, two showcases out of competition, panels, meetings, a retrospective and special events celebrating the explosive synergy ignited between cinema and music.

The International Longplay Competition will feature a double soul for the first time within its two Doc and Feature sub-sections, with six feature-length films and six documentaries, all absolute premieres, flanked by the twelve shorts in the 7Inch contest; while the ever-present Soundies, the competition for a ‘musical’ format par excellence, will offer twenty videoclips.

In addition to the three competitive sections, the programme includes the Rising Sound showcase, continuing its discovery path  within the experimental and research music scenario; while Into the Groove confirms its mainstream traits. SYS is dedicating a tribute for the first time to a seminal figure like Tony Palmer, the greatest music-cinema film director worldwide, who will be a guest at the festival.

The 4th edition will kick-off on Friday 26 with the screening of Ingeborg Holm, a Swedish silent film directed by Victor Sjöström, with a live soundtrack by Corrado Nuccini, Iosonouncane and Enrico Gabrielli; and with the inauguration of the SoundFrames exhibition, which will bring a novel and interactive layout into the Museum, featuring the relationship between cinema and music, of course.
