MAGNIFICHE VISIONI (MAGNIFICENT VISIONS): Blood and sand by Fred Niblo
For MAGNIFICENT VISIONS: The Permanent Festival of Restored Film, the National Cinema Museum presents the film Blood and sand by Fred Niblo, Tuesday 29 May 2012, at 8.45 p.m., on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo, in the print restored by the Bologna Municipality Film Archives and the Swiss Film Archives. Repeat screening Wednesday 30 May 2012 at 4 p.m. Admission: 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.
The screening on Tuesday 29 May will be accompanied by live music played by Maestro Stefano Maccagno and introduced by the presentation of the volume Rodolfo Valentino. Cinema, cultura and società tra Italia e Stati Uniti negli anni Venti (Cinema, culture and society between Italy and United States in the Twenties) by curators Silvio Alovisio and Giulia Carluccio (Torino, Kaplan, 2011). Writer Gianni Farinetti and filmmaker Davide Livermore are attending in addition to the curators.
