On Remembrance Day, the National Museum of Cinema will host two important events in its Cinema Massimo and Bibliomediateca.
The 27th of January - the day the gates of Auschwitz were knocked down - is Remembrance Day. An important commemoration, but also first and foremost a cultural and educational event that must serve as a warning to future generations. It is in the spirit of this day that the National Museum of Cinema will host two important events in its two venues, Cinema Massimo and its Bibliomediateca:
- from 9.30am to 1pm in the Bibliomediateca, a presentation of Roberto Faenza's film Jona che visse nella balena (Jonah who lived in the whale). This event is aimed at primary school children of the area, with special guest Ugo Sacerdote, president of the coordinating committee of the Associations of the Resistance in Piedmont. Afterwards there will be eyewitness accounts of deportation. The event has been organised by the National Museum of Cinema in partnership with District 3 - City of Turin, the coordinating committee of the Associations of the Resistance in Piedmont.
- at 9.30am in Cinema Massimo, a screening of Jerry Schatzberg's film Reunion, with an introduction by Stefano Boni. The presentation has been organised by AIACE Turin and is aimed at school children of all ages and levels, as well as the public. Please book in advance by calling the freephone number 800 553 130.
