A Bestiale! All Saints’ bank holiday and Halloween at the National Cinema Museum

For the occasion of the upcoming All Saints’ bank holiday and the Halloween festivity, the National Cinema Museum will be open regularly for the whole period – from Saturday 28 October to Wednesday 1 November – and will organise a series of activities addressed to a broad public (children and adults), which visitors may join. Furthermore, extended opening hours until 11.00 p.m. on Tuesday 31 October, for the most ghostly evening of the year: A BESTIALE! HALLOWEEN. All the activities will feature thrills and entertainment, among little devils, witches, scary creatures, monsters and ghosts.

 

The All Saints’ bank holiday special will be valid for the entire period, featuring two types of guided tours every day: a History of animated cartoons tour for children and families at 11.00 a.m., and the Discovering the Cinema Museum guided tour at 4.00 p.m. in the afternoon, for the whole family.

 

The guided tours cost for the 11.00 a.m. visit is 5.00 euro (free up to 3 years of age) in addition to reduced admission to the Museum, while the afternoon tour costs 6.00 euro at 4.00 p.m. (always free up to 3 years of age) in addition to reduced admission to the Museum (adults 8.00 euro, children and juniors aged 6-18 years 3.00 euro) and free admission for children up to 5 years, the disabled and their accompanier, Abbonamento Musei and Torino+Piemonte Card members. On Tuesday 31 October, it will be possible to take part in our special A BESTIALE! HALLOWEEN, from 4.00 p.m. onwards.

 

It begins at 4.00 p.m. with a laboratory for children aged over 6, titled Animated spectres, skeletons and ghosts, a circuit for discovering phantasmagorical shows in pre-cinema, accompanied by drawing activity on “ghosts” and the viewing of famous sequences along this theme: from early cartoons to modern animation by Tim Burton.

The cost for laboratory participants is 6.00 euro for the activity in addition to reduced 3.00 euro admission to the Museum. From 5.00 to 8.00 p.m., the Museum is dedicating itself to all of its public, for celebrating Halloween together with TRICK or TREAT? Horror characters, monster make-up and sweets! and it will be possible to meet some of the most famous horror cinema characters - like zombies, skeletons and vampires – who have magically come out of the screens, to stop off at the dedicated corners in the Temple Hall for completing one’s costume with scary and original make-up, and wheedle sweets out of the staff.

Admission for adults full ticket, children up to 5 years free, juniors 6 >18 years reduced 3.00 euro admission.

 

A total novelty for this year and absolutely exceptionally at night, at 7.30, 8.30 and 9.30 p.m., always on Tuesday 31 October, will be the thrilling ascent on foot of the dome, titled The Mole as you’ve never seen it!. For this occasion, the history, anecdotes and curiosities about the symbol of Turin will be recounted by a very special witness, the Mole hunchback, the ultra-centenarian assistant of architect Alessandro Antonelli.

Visit restricted to over-age public (unadvisable for visitors subject to mobility difficulties, impaired sight or hearing, heart conditions or respiratory illnesses, claustrophobia, disorientation syndromes). Cost 7.00 euro per person, max 15 per group.
