Please be reminded that until 11 January 2016 it is possible to visit the great NEOREALIST CINEMA. The splendour of truth in post-war Italy by Alberto Barbera, with the collaboration of Grazia Paganelli and Fabio Pezzetti Tonion, which is celebrating neorealism as the best-known, beloved and influential season in the history of Italian cinema, seventy years from the stunning appearance of Rome, Open City by Roberto Rossellini.

 

The activities offered for the public and for families will also be many. From 26 December to 6 January the Discovering the Cinema Museum guided tours will be featured every day at 4.00 p.m., with a circuit offering an overall view of certain sections of the museum (Cinema Archaeology and the Cinema Machine), addressed to an adult audience.

 

The rendez-vous on Sunday morning (20/27 December and 3 January) at 11.00 a.m. will also be back, with a Children and families guided tour, planned for involving children (over 4 years of age) in an animated circuit which will accompany them from the birth of the seventh art to contemporary cinema.

 

The customary rendez-vous with Sunday at last! will also continue, offering play-and-learn activities dedicated to children within the Paideia Hall every Sunday afternoon (20/27 December and 3 January) at 4.00 p.m., linked to a visit at an Archaeology of Cinema or Cinema Machine showcase section, as well as the area dedicated to Special Effects.

 

On Wednesday 6 January 2016 at 11.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m., special rendez-vous for children (over 6 years of age) with The Befana comes by daytime! in which a lovely Befana decides to spend her feast day at the Museum, accompanying small guests through an animated itinerary to discover the birth of cinema entertainment.

The Library/Mediatheque and the Archive will remain closed to the public from Thursday 24 December 2015 to Wednesday 6 January 2016 included. Services will resume regularly on Thursday 7 January 2016.

On the 24.12 and 31.12 the late evening screening will not take place at the Cinema Massimo.
