Easter, 25 April and 1 May at the National Cinema Museum - Special openings, promotions and initiatives for the whole family

For the occasion of the upcoming holidays, the National Cinema Museum will be open according to the following calendar:

 

Sunday 20 April (Easter)                              9.00 a.m.-8.00 p.m.

Monday 21 April (Easter Monday)                9.00 a.m.-8.00 p.m.

Thursday 25 April (Liberation Day)               9.00 a.m.-8.00 p.m.

Monday 28 April                                         9.00 a.m.-8.00 p.m. (special opening)

Thursday 1 May (Workers’ Day)                   9.00 a.m.-8.00 p.m.

 

Until 31 August 2014 it will be possible to visit the extraordinary BEST ACTRESS. Oscar® Divas exhibition, a tribute to the 72 women who received the prestigious statuette for the best female performance between 1929 and 2014. Over 370 items on display, recounting the story of the great stars and actresses who not only left their mark in the history of cinema, but also on social mores, the extraordinary icons of changes in women’s roles in American society throughout the Twentieth century.

 

The National Cinema Museum Family Special promotion will remain active for the whole period, featuring admission to the museum and the temporary exhibition at the cost of € 9.00 per person for adults and free entry for children up to 18 years of age.

 

On Easter Day and Easter Monday the Museum will offer guided tours at 6.00 p.m., over an itinerary introducing certain sections of the displays.

On 25 April and 1 May guided tours for the whole family will take place instead at 3.00 p.m.

The cost for guided tours is € 3.50 per person (free for children up to 5 years) + museum admission ticket. Booking on number +39 011 8138564/5 (active from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) is strongly advised. It is also possible to drop in at the ticket-office on the same day as the visit and check on vacancy availability.

 

The Sunday afternoon rendez-vous continues with Sunday at last! - exceptionally also on Easter Monday, 21 April - with play-and-learn activities (lasting about 1h30’) addressed to children between 5 and 12 years, carried out in the new Paideia Hall and in the museum rooms. The cost for the laboratory is € 4.00 per child, € 3.00 for Junior Card holders, while admission to the museum for their accompaniers is € 2.50 per person. Booking is required at least two days ahead for laboratory activities, by calling number +39 011 8138.564/5 (from Monday to Friday 9 a.m.-6 p.m.).
