BLACK FRIDAY continues at the Cinema Massimo with the film screening of The thing by John Carpenter.
Black Friday, the monthly rendez-vous for lovers of the horror genre, will feature the film screening of The thing by John Carpenter on Friday 27 June, at 9.00 p.m. on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo.
A remake of the legendary 1957 film by Howard Hawks The thing from another world, taken from the novel Who Goes There? by John W. Campbell, The thing became a cult film for horror lovers in spite of its lack of audience success, and it remains John Carpenter’s favourite film. It has also become a part of culture in the Antarctic, where people apparently gather to watch this film on 21 June for the Midwinter festivity. The beginning features a sentence in Norwegian saying: “It isn’t a dog, it’s a kind of Thing!” Repeat screening on Saturday 28 at 6.30 p.m. Admission 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.
