For the festival COLPI DI GENIO. Scienziati e incontri al cinema, screening of the film The Bride of Frankenstein  by James Whale.

Library / Mediatheque – 3 May 2010, 3.30 p.m.

First appointment on Monday 3 May 2010 with the film festival COLPI DI GENIO. Scienziati e incontri al cinema, scheduled for screening in the Library / Mediatheque. The festival begins with the screening of The Bride of Frankenstein by James Whale, one of the most important films produced by Universal. The film, based very loosely on the book by Mary Shelley, combines gothic suggestions and dreamlike, melancholy atmospheres. Frankenstein’s monster, far from being the terrifying creature of many subsequent adaptations, is an enigmatic and lonely character, whose grotesque meetings with humans were later parodied by Mel Brooks in the extraordinary Frankenstein Junior. Introduced by Riccardo Fassone.
