TorinoFilmLab launches new Distribution Fund!

Aimed at EU + non-EU co-prods with innovative audience development strategies for distribution in at least 3 territories

Since 2008 TorinoFilmLab means a unique combination of training, development and funding activities sustaining international high-quality independent films with a distinctive voice.

4 TFL-supported films – 3 of which received production grants from the scheme – will premiere at summer festivals in the coming months: MEN WHO SAVE THE WORLD by Liew Seng Tat and LOS HONGOS by Oscar Ruiz Navia are competing in Locarno’s Cineasti del Presente; BYPASS by Duane Hopkins is selected for Venice Orizzonti, and CHRIEG by Simon Jaquemet is included in the line-up of San Sebastián New Directors.

With 27 films launched at the top world film festivals and released since its creation in 2008, TFL has proven to be a growing force in nurturing emerging filmmakers and a first-rate hub for international co-productions. The 7th TorinoFilmLab Meeting Event will take place during the 32nd Torino Film Festival on 24-26 November 2014.

In 2014 we are thrilled to launch a new Fund that will complete TFL’s 360° range of activities adding the last, fundamental step: distribution.

The TFL Distribution Fund will be dedicated to implementing innovative audience development strategies at the moment of distribution. A total of 4 Awards of 43.000 Euro will be assigned in 2014/2015, thanks to the Creative Europe – MEDIA sub-programme support to International Co-production Funds.

TFL Distribution is open to feature films previously developed in a TorinoFilmLab programme – the applicant being based in a MEDIA-eligible country – with at least one co-producer coming from a non-MEDIA and non-Eurimages country, which are scheduled to be distributed in at least 3 territories by the end of December 2016. Creative solutions will be valued, and the strategy can be aimed at festivals, cinemas, Video On Demand platforms, TV, smartphones and in general all media.
