Double-billing in January for DOC, with Dal profondo by Valentina Pedicini and Ossigeno by Piero Cannizzaro.

Cinema Massimo – 10 and 15 January 2014, 8.30 p.m., Screen Three

Double-billing for DOC, the non fiction viewing circuit, which the Museum is offering in collaboration with Italian producers, distributors and authors who are taking forward the great tradition of documentaries. For the occasion, Valentina Pedicini will present her Dal profondo, entirely shot in the Sulcis region coalmines 500 metres below sea-level, on Friday 10 January, at 8.30 and at 22.30 p.m. on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo. The film won the prize for the best documentary at the latest Rome Film Festival. The screening will be followed by a meeting/debate with the director.

Wednesday 15 January will see Piero Cannizzaro bringing Ossigeno to Turin, a documentary reconstructing the extreme and dramatic life of Agrippino Costa, a poet but also a robber and ex-Red Brigade militant, always on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo. The screening will be followed by a meeting with Piero Cannizzaro, Alessandra Comazzi and Carlo Grande.
