6th TorinoFilmLab Meeting Event: training, development and funding for worldwide emerging talents. Its films screening at the 31st TFF.

From 25 to 27 November 2013

Born of the wish to flank the Torino Film Festival with a workshop dedicated to emerging directors and scriptwriters, the TorinoFilmLab is an international laboratory that supports young talents from all over the world through training, development and funding activities. Its main focus is on the creation of first and second feature films.

The 31st Torino Film Festival will host the 6th TorinoFilmLab Meeting Event (25-27 November), a co-production market involving over 200 worldwide scriptwriters, filmmakers, producers, sales agents, distributors and other professionals. The Meeting Event, which includes a public pitching of the projects developed within the lab during the year and awards to the best works, will offer the industry a total of 40 projects from 4 different programmes, plus 5 “guest” projects (selected among those taking part in 2013 in The Pixel Lab and Biennale College – Cinema partner initiatives).

It is the final moment, in fact, for the TorinoFilmLab programmes, which have been running parallel all year: Script&Pitch, dedicated to feature film screenplays development at the initial stages of their drafting, FrameWork, focusing on aspects linked to development and production, addressed to first and second works at an advanced stage, and AdaptLab, dedicated to “from book to screen” adaptation. During the Meeting Event the curtain will also fall on the Writers’ Room programme, featuring a group of professionals with various profiles, working as a team to develop two cross-platform projects– that is, conceived for being consumed through multiple platforms (cinema, TV, videogames, internet, social networks, mobile phones, …) –, and on the one dedicated to the elaboration of audience engagement strategies, Audience Design.
