The National Cinema Museum presents the festival MAGNUM ON SET: The films – Part I at Cinema Massimo.

Cinema Massimo – From 26 June to 1 July 2011, Screen Three

The National Cinema Museum presents, at Cinema Massimo, the first part of a programme screening 12 films which were the subjects of the extraordinary pictures taken by Magnum photographers. This has been organised to coincide with the great exhibition MAGNUM ON SET: film as seen by great photographers, organised by Andréa Holzherr and Isabel Siben, which will be held at the museum from 2 October 2011.

After the screening of Billy Wilder’s The Seven Year Itch, scheduled at the end of May to mark the inauguration of the exhibition, the films Planet of the Apes, Death of a Salesman, The Misfits, Rebel without a Cause and Suddenly Last Summer will be shown from 26 June to 1 July 2011, the last of which has been reprinted by Sony Classics specially for this Turin-based event. The remaining six films are scheduled from 2 to 10 July 2011.

The festival will open on Sunday, 26 June 2011 at 8.45 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three, with a screening of Franklin J. Schaffner’s film Planet of the Apes. Admission: 5.50/4.00/3.00 euros.
