Castello Orsini, Avezzano hosts the First Disability Film Festival.

Castello Orsini, Avezzano – From 1 to 3 April 2011

The UIC (Italian Union of the blind and partially sighted) non-profit organisation, Aquila branch, is constructing a network of institutions and associations in Italy and Europe that support the debate on disabilities. This will be achieved by organising specific events focusing on disabilities where there will be discussions on the most vulnerable classes of society.

This is why the UIC is organising and supporting the “Festival Internazionale del Cinema delle Disabilità” (the Disability Film Festival) which will take place on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd April at Castello Orsini in Avezzano, particularly designed for young people and university students who will discuss issues of current interest with national and international experts (actors, directors, researchers), after having watched films and documentaries of great social sensitivity. This will encourage a greater awareness regarding issues of disability.
