The National Cinema Museum pays tribute to the Iranian film director Jafar Panahi and his colleague Mohammad Rasoulof with an evening on their work, featuring contributions from many celebrities from the world of art and culture. Afterwards there will be a screening of Offside, Panahi’s latest film, which has never been released in Italy.

Cinema Massimo – 1 March 2011, at 9 p.m.

Following the ruling made by the Iranian courts on film directors Jafar Panahi and Mohammad Rasoulof, condemned to six years in gaol and, for Panahi, a complete 20-year ban on working in the arts, the National Cinema Museum is supporting international protests which are demanding the reversal of this crushing sentence. We will join the protests on Tuesday, 1 March 2011 at 9 p.m. by screening, free of charge, Jafar Panahi’s latest film Offside in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Two, which is as yet unreleased in Italy. Many Turin-based writers and film directors have joined the protest and will be present to demonstrate their support.
