ASIFA Italia donates its historical archive of animated films to the National Cinema Museum

Cinema Massimo – 23 February 2011, at 9 p.m.

ASIFA Italia – The Animated Film Association and the National Cinema Museum signed an agreement in February 2011 which confirms the donation of ASIFA’s historical archive to the museum’s collections. With this donation, which includes unique material of its kind in Italy, the National Cinema Museum is committing itself to permanent efforts on behalf of Italian animated film, which will include a series of talks aimed at promoting the past with an eye to the future.

The agreement will be celebrated on Wednesday, 23 February 2011 at 9 p.m. in Cinema Massimo, during Corti d’Autore, the CNC National Short Film Centre’s event focusing on great short films. Bruno Bozzetto, Honorary President of ASIFA Italia, will draw attention to some of the most important projects produced by large Italian animated film companies in the history of a process that takes in classics as well as new, extraordinary animated short films: from a tribute to the first President of ASIFA Italia, Emanuele Luzzati, to new independent animated filmmakers.
