The CNC National Short Film Centre and ASIFA Italy present CORTI D’AUTORE/Animazione sperimentale: vita, morte e miracoli (SHORT FILMS: All there is to know about experimental animation) at Cinema Massimo.

Cinema Massimo – 22 October 2010, at 8.45 p.m.

The National Cinema Museum will host CORTI D’AUTORE/Animazione sperimentale: vita, morte e miracoli (SHORT FILMS: All there is to know about experimental animation) on Friday the 22nd of October 2010 at 8.45 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three. The evening has been organised by the CNC National Short Film Centre and ASIFA Italy with special guest star, the artist Leonardo Carrano, engraver, film director, kinetic painter and lecturer at Rome’s Academy of Fine Arts. Carrano – who works with animation techniques, constantly studying new images and materials – is considered to be one of the most enterprising experimenters in the field of Italian film animation.

The meeting with Carrano will be followed by a tribute to Arthur Lipsett, an animator at Canada’s National Film Board, who died before his time and who is the subject of a moving animated short film by Theodore Ushev.
