The 17th gLocal Film Festival by Piemonte Movie will also be at the Library/Mediatheque with two evenings rendering a tribute to Flavio Bucci and to Pit Formento.

For the occasion of the 17th gLocal Film Festival, organised by the Piemonte Movie Association, and which will take place from 7 to 11 March 2018 at the Cinema Massimo, the Mario Gromo Library/Mediatheque is organising two screenings dedicated respectively to Flavio Bucci, the actor to whom the festival is dedicating a tribute, and to filmmmaker Pit Formento.
Tuesday 13 March, at 8.30 p.m. at the Events Room in the Library/Mediatheque, will feature the screening of Il giorno prima by Giuliano Montaldo, with Flavio Bucci, as part of the tribute that gLocal Film Festival is dedicating to him. Featuring Alessandro Gaido, Gabriele Diverio and Fabrizio Dividi (Piemonte Movie).
On Tuesday 20 March, at 8.30 p.m. at the Events Room in the Library/Mediatheque, it will be the turn of the tribute screening to Pit Formento – a recently passed-on Turin filmmaker - with his 2003 film Due o Tre cose che so di loro. Featuring Sante Altizio (director), Alessandro Gaido and Gabriele Diverio (Piemonte Movie).

A few volunteers accept to let themselves be locked up for twenty days inside an anti-atomic shelter. The experiment aims at studying the effects of a situation of this type on human behaviour. The participants are selected from the most varied sorts of people and are a representative sample of society. Forced co-habitation and the claustrophobic atmosphere will cause unforeseeable reaction to emerge, especially when the occupiers of the bunker discover that an atomic missile is maybe about to hit the city. Conceived and scripted by Piero Angela, a curious and interesting experiment in Italian science-fiction, with a top-tier international cast.

Due o Tre cose che so di loro (Pit Formento, 2003, 90’, col.)
Four Turin filmmakers - Carlo Ausino, Mimmo Calopresti, Alberto Signetto and Umberto Spinazzola – talk about themselves. At times the individual stories interweave, and also thanks to testimonials from fellow women and men along the road, memories become a collective re-evocation of childhood, of adolescence, of falling in love with cinema, of how to intend life. An opportunity for learning «two or three things» about four persons who, by the way, work at the same job.
