For CROSSROADS, first tour date of Teho Teardo - La retour à la raison. Musique pour trois films de Man Ray.
Following its extraordinary premiere, which took place at Villa Manin di Passariano at the beginning of December, the Teho Teardo – La retour à la raison. Musique pour trois films de Man Ray tour will be starting off from Turin.
Teardo – accompanied by Stefano Azzolina on viola, Elena De Stabile on violin and by 15 guitarists – will perform live for the three original soundtracks composed for Man Ray’s films La retour à la raison (1923), L’etoile de mer (1928) and Emak Bakia (1926), which will be screened during the concert. This face-to-face at a distance has also morphed into an “open letter” that Teho Teardo wished to address to the American artist: Dear Man Ray –Teho writes – the soundtrack does not match the Ray Man’s idea of cinema. Another type of approach to your films is better, searching for meetings of an emotional nature, almost falling in line with that world, but without commenting it, without imitating it, avoiding a stressing of what is already said in the film. In the end, it’s what I pursued over those years in my relationship with cinema.
This concert is born to complete the great exhibition organised by Villa Manin di Passariano and the curators Guido Comis and Antonio Giusa, which featured over 300 works by Man Ray. Admission 7.50/5.00/4.00 euro. Advance ticketing is open, at the cinema box-office and on line at this link.
