The latest event in the WOMEN OF THE WEST festival features a screening of Anthony Mann’s film The Far Country, presented to the audience by Attilio Palmieri.
The next event in the Bibliomediateca will be on Monday the 25th of October 2010, at 3.30 p.m. and will feature a screening of Anthony Mann’s film The Far Country as part of the WOMEN OF THE WEST festival.
This film director made five westerns with James Stewart, well and truly tracing a path within which the actor developed an increasingly three-dimensional character. In this case, the personality traits that make Jeff a lonely man who finds it hard to integrate socially are most evident. The relationship between the individual and society is the main theme of this film, which follows the hero’s personal growth. The main turning points occur through his relationship with two women: one of which is a mature, rich brunette; the other is a much younger, more innocent and naive blonde. Introduction by Attilio Palmieri (from the University of Turin).
