A presentation of didactic activities connected to the exhibition The machine of wonders: Magic lanterns and painted film – Four centuries of cinema.

On Wednesday the 19^th of May 2010, at 2.30 p.m. at Cinema Massimo's Screen 3 there will be a presentation of the didactic activities connected to the exhibition The machine of wonders: Magic lanterns and painted film – Four centuries of cinema, which will be open from the 21^st of July to the 7^th November 2010 at Le sale delle arti in the palace of Reggia di Venaria. This presentation has been specially designed for teachers. Paticipants will include Tomaso Ricardi di Netro (Director of the Exhibition Activities Office at La Venaria Reale), Donata Pesenti Campagnoni (National Museum of Cinema curator), Paola Traversi (National Museum of Cinema educational services manager) and Silvia Varetto (Director of La Venaria's education services dept.).

All participants will be offered a welcome coffee and an “Ombres Fantastiques” poster.

Afterwards, there will be a screening of Davide Ferrario’s film Prima del Cinema. Il meraviglioso spettacolo di lanterna magica (Before Film: The marvellous spectacle of magic lanterns), with Giorgio Pasotti (Italy 2009, col. 33’ 9’’).
