PAZZA IDEA. Oltre il '68: icone pop nelle fotografie di Angelo Frontoni
The National Museum of Cinema is dedicating an exhibition to Angelo Frontoni, one of the photographers who best captured the world of cinema, fashion and entertainment in Italy. The exhibition, housed in the Temple Hall and along the ramp of the Mole Antonelliana, presents a selection of images from the Frontoni Archive, a collection of over 546,000 photographs acquired by the Museum and the Cineteca Nazionale (National Film Archive) of Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia - .
The photographs on display capture the spirit of an era marked by profound social and cultural transformations, alternating between seduction, irony, provocation and light-heartedness. These are not mere portraits, but true visual narratives, capable of capturing the essence of their subjects while reflecting changes in taste and the collective imagination.
The exhibition thus offers an opportunity to rediscover a unique iconographic heritage, which retains its expressive power intact and maintains its ability to dialogue with today’s viewer.
