Paul Newman honoured at the 43rd Torino Film Festival

Torino, 29 July 2025

From November 21 to 29, 2025, the 43rd Torino Film Festival will celebrate the centenary of Paul Newman’s birth with a curated retrospective and official poster in his honour.

Widely regarded as one of the most iconic and admired actors in the history of cinema, Newman will be commemorated through a selection of 24 titles that illuminate the trajectory of his remarkable career – from early performances in the 1950s, to international acclaim, and his later, introspective works. With his magnetic presence, expressive depth, and an unforgettable gaze capable of conveying profound emotion, Newman shaped some of the most enduring characters in film history.

The photograph featured on the official poster was taken in 1981 during the filming of Absence of Malice, directed by Sydney Pollack.
