The collection recounts a story with very broad boundaries: on the one hand it portrays the more technical side of filming, on the other hand it also touches on the history of sound reproduction and especially that of photography to which a large section is devoted. For Maria Adriana Prolo, the Museum’s founder, photography and cinema were in fact closely connected to each other. Among the equipment and accessories, we can find cameras, projectors and lab equipment that show the film production process. No less fascinating is the section dedicated to the birth of photography and its development: cameras, enlargers, visors and accessories for photography as well as stereoscopic devices and viewers that tell the adventures of one of the greatest dreams coming true in the first decades of nineteenth century: the search for the third dimension.
