VR Effect!
Virtual reality comes to the Museo Nazionale del Cinema
The Museo Nazionale del Cinema hosts CineVR in the Temple Hall, a new area entirely dedicated to virtual reality. Created in collaboration with Rai Cinema, it aims to promote digital culture, innovation and new technologies related to cinema.
CineVR is Italy’s first permanent cinema entirely dedicated to virtual reality, with a continuous daily programme featuring films conceived and created specifically for this medium. The programme is updated every month with new content and also includes temporary presentations linked to Festivals and special events.

Perennials (USA, Switzerland 2023, 17’, VR, eng, col) by Zoe Roellin
After his father’s death, Elias returns to the family’s abandoned home to get rid of it, avoiding confronting his emotions and memories. With him is his young niece Emi, who has a secret plan and is ready to transform that melancholic place into one last, unexpected adventure. In competition at Venice Immersive at the 80th Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica.
Rebels (Argentina 2021, 10') by Federico Moreno Breser
In a parallel world where animals live as humans, an authoritarian law places a city in a state of chaos. The ‘Darwin Code’ mandates conformity to species-specific by-laws where individual expression is prohibited and heavily enforced by militarized droids who punish any that challenge the code. But a subversive group resists and lights a flame for others to follow. This group is known only as the ‘Rebels’.
