Baisers volés by François Truffaut for MAGNIFICENT VISIONS.
The Magnificent vision for this week features the public screening of the film Baisers voles (Stolen kisses) by François Truffaut (France 1968, 90’, Hd, col., o. v. it. s/t), in a restored version. Repeat screening on Wednesday 12 November at 4.00 p.m. Admission 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.
At his third appearance following Les 400 coups (The four-hundred blows) and the episode Antoine and Colette he directed in the episode film L’amour à vingt ans (Love at twenty), Truffaut brings back the character of Antoine Doinel, played by his fetish actor Jean-Pierre Léaud, to tell us a story full of melancholy sweetness, in which the protagonist, who is desperately looking for his place in the world, faces a journey towards growth and inner maturity.
