CinemAmbiente
Founded with the aim of presenting the best environmental films from around the world and promoting environmental awareness, it is now Italy’s leading environmental film festival and one of the most important of its kind internationally. Established in Turin in 1998 by Gaetano Capizzi and directed by Lia Furxhi, Festival CinemAmbiente is a founding member of the Green Film Network. Each year, it presents around 100 works through international competitions, non-competitive sections, thematic focuses, talks and panel discussions, with particular attention to younger audiences through CinemAmbiente Junior. The programme is further enriched by Ecoevents, a series of related initiatives ranging from exhibitions and debates to concerts, performances and installations. In keeping with its mission, the festival offsets its CO₂ emissions, is plastic-free and uses recycled and certified materials.
The 29th edition took place in Turin from 3 to 7 June 2026.
