The exhibit Cannes Cinema. 50 anni di festival nella collezione Traverso (Cannes Cinema. 50 years of the festival in the Traverso collection), which has been organized by the City of Cannes, is also part of the initiatives celebrating the friendship pact between the City of Torino and the City of Cannes.

The Cannes Film Festival has been the world’s most important media event for over half a century. Internationally famous directors and movie stars, as well as filmmakers from all over the world, meet up here every evening during the festival to be applauded by thousands of spectators as photographers take their photos.

For generations, the Traverso family has participated in this special adventure; professional photographers, their snapshots have immortalized stars and divas posing on the red carpet in front of the Palais des Festivals and caught them in impromptu snapshots on the beaches of the Croisette or in the exclusive clubs of the Côte d’Azur where the most festival’s important parties were held during the 1950s and ‘60s.

The exhibit, which has been organized by the City of Cannes, is also part of the initiatives celebrating the friendship pact between the City of Torino and the City of Cannes.
