• Dedicated wheelchair entrance with intercom
• Priority access for visitors with disabilities, pregnant woman and families with pushchairs

• Visitors who use a wheelchair are granted priority access, together with one accompanying person.

• A LOGES tactile paving route leads from the outdoor entrance to the Mole Antonelliana area on the reception level.

Free admission to the Museum and the Panoramic Lift is available to visitors with disabilities and one accompanying person.

To qualify for reduced or free admission, visitors must present valid proof of eligibility.

A lift provides access to the exhibition areas with the assistance of Museum staff.

Wheelchairs are available free of charge and may be requested at the Ticket Office. After your visit, please return the wheelchair to the Ticket Office.

All galleries, entrances and facilities within the Museum are wheelchair accessible.

Wheelchairs, pushchairs and prams are permitted inside the Mole Antonelliana. Only one wheelchair at a time may enter the Panoramic Lift. Pushchairs and prams must be left outside the lift cabin.

Guide dogs and other trained assistance animals are welcome in the Museum.

On every floor

High-legibility visual and tactile panels in Braille include maps of the exhibition route.

QR codes and NFC tags provide access via smartphone to audiovisual content in Italian, featuring Italian Sign Language (LIS) interpretation and subtitles.

Ground floor

Access is provided via a LOGES tactile paving route.

The "Mole Antonelliana" visual and tactile exhibition area is also located on this floor.

Archaeology of Cinema

Digital captions offer options to enlarge text and images and adjust the contrast.

Hands-on models allow visitors to explore how the main pre-cinema devices work and discover their underlying technical principles.

Visual and tactile panels feature raised images and high-legibility text in both print and Braille.

QR codes and NFC tags provide access to audio versions of the panel texts in Italian and English.

Temporary exhibitions

The exhibition route includes:

• a visual and tactile map of the exhibition;
• Braille texts and visual and tactile reproductions of selected works on display.

Lavazza supports the Museo Nazionale del Cinema in the creation of highly legible visual-tactile panels in Braille, and tactile models for blind and visually impaired visitors, for both temporary exhibitions and the permanent collection.

QR codes and NFC tags provide access via smartphone to audiovisual content in Italian, featuring Italian Sign Language (LIS) interpretation and subtitles.

Guided tours with an Italian Sign Language interpreter are available by booking at prenotazioni@museocinema.it.

Temporary exhibitions

The exhibition route includes audiovisual versions of the introductory panels, featuring Italian Sign Language interpretation and Italian subtitles.

Easy-to-read and highly legible texts are available in Italian.

The Museum also offers a new service consisting of ten sensory kits. The kits contain a range of sensory tools, communication materials and noise-reducing headphones and are available to autistic and neurodivergent visitors to make their visit more comfortable.
The kit must be returned to the Ticket Office at the end of the visit.

The sensory kits, created with the support of Lavazza Group and in collaboration with ANGSA, are part of the IncluVisity powered by Lavazza programme.

The SOCIAL STORY is designed to help you prepare for your visit, whether you are coming alone or with someone else. It includes information on how to reach the Museum and find your way around. You will also discover what you can do during your visit, who works at the Museum and which resources can help you make the most of your time here.

This resource may be particularly helpful for first-time visitors who feel anxious or overwhelmed at the thought of visiting the Museum.

Since 2022, the Museum has been recognised as inclusive and sustainable by the International Council of Museums. For almost twenty years, it has incorporated a wide range of accessibility resources into its exhibitions, including visual and tactile models and drawings, easy-to-read texts, bilingual audio descriptions, Braille captions, highly legible fonts and videos featuring Italian Sign Language interpretation.
