FIRST FINANCIAL STATEMENT FOR THE NATIONAL CINEMA MUSEUM - Accounts under control and a satisfying performance in revenues, currently beginning to work on a vision for growth.

Turin, 19 September 2017

The Turin National Cinema Museum accounts are under control and a satisfying performance is being registered as concerns its revenues. This is the result, less than three months from the establishment of the new Management Committee, following a careful assessment of the financial state of the museum and thanks to diversified shrewdness concerning costs management.

“All this has been made possible - Laura Milani, the President of the National Cinema Museum stresses- because all the people who work at and for museum, in the first place the new Committee and the pro tempore Director Donata Pesenti Campagnoni, have been able to carry out their work with passion, coherence and professionalism. What we are taking forward is a choral job which has featured commitment from the whole team and which has made it possible to understand and overcome a difficult but fundamental moment in order to look beyond it. We have worked quietly and achieved the first of the goals we set: putting the accounts in order. Another stage is opening now, the one which looks towards the future, to be shared with institutions and to be completed by 2020, for the occasion of the Museum’s twentieth anniversary".

Thanks to such results, the National Cinema Museum has begun to work on a vision for its growth and a series of initiatives are already in place, featuring the Mole Antonelliana not only as an exhibition venue, but as the hub of all the activities for the museum structure, with event-evenings and high-visibility meetings. Partnerships with the main bodies and events will be increased and strengthened throughout the territory, not only in town but also at a national and international level, and cinema’s vocation as a transversal communication language will find ample acknowledgement in interdisciplinary projects. It is an important project, to be implemented in the long-run, which intends, in particular for the Museum’s twentieth anniversary, to turn Turin increasingly into the city of cinema.
