Last Angeles

(Italy 2018, 53’, DCP, col.)

Sergio is a 60 year-old who shares his time between Mondovì and Los Angeles. Dreaming of living permanently in California, he tracks down eight friends, all Italians, who have tried to make their dream come true and have moved to Hollywood. Amongst others, there are extraordinary figures like Ines Pellegrini (Pasolini’s muse), Gigi Meroni (a musician recipient of an Emmy Award), Giacomo Ghiazza (a storyboard designer who works with Ang Lee, Nicolas Cage and Johnny Depp) and Nick Metropolis, a famous props-manager on Hollywood sets. Sergio knows very well that life is an illusion about red carpets, that Hollywood and Los Angeles are a dream-machine and that everybody is panting for one’s quarter of an hour of fame, but he also knows that there is no hope without illusions, there is no life.
