SPECIAL EVENT – Filmmaker Sou Abadi and actor Félix Moati will present the premiere of Cherchez la femme at the cinema Massimo.

Special event at the Cinema Massimo, on Sunday 3 December at 10.30 a.m., with director Sou Abadi and actor Félix Moati who are presenting the premiere of Cherchez la femme at the cinema Massimo. The film will be released throughout Italy on Thursday 7 December.

 

Filmmaker Sou Abadi – originally from Iran, moving to France when she was 15 years old – debuted in 2002 with her documentary SOS in Tehran. Subsequently, not having found any financing to take forward a film project on the life of an old Israeli spy who used to work for the Soviets, she began writing this film. Cherchez la femme won the Audience Prize at the Biografilm Festival and garnered great public and critique success in France.

 

The film presentation is organised by I Wonder Pictures and will take place at 10.30 a.m., at Screen Two in the Cinema Massimo. At the end, the guests will answer questions from the public at the cinema. Admission 7.00/5.00 euro.

Leila and Armand study Political Science and love each other. Her parents are Iranians who left their homeland following Khomeini’s advent. However, she sees her brother Mahmoud, just back from Yemen, where he joined Islamic radicalism, suddenly descending on her home. One of his first impositions is forbidding his sister’s meetings with Armand. But he finds a solution. He wears the all-enveloping robe that only leaves the eyes uncovered and turns up at Leila’s home as a maiden called Scheherazade who needs tutoring. But, this 'student' attracts Mahmoud’s amorous interest, and this does complicates things.
