Kick-off for the Lovers Film Festival - Turin LGBTQI Visions, reaching its thirty-third edition this year.

Cinema Massimo – from 20 to 24 April 2018 – Screen One, Two and Three

In 2018 the Lovers Film Festival – Turin LGBTQI Visions, directed by Irene Dionisio and chaired by Giovanni Minerba, will take place from 20 to 24 April 2018 in Turin at the Cinema Museum’s Cinema Massimo Multiplex, during its historic slot period for the traditional attendees of this showcase. The 2018 edition of the festival will feature a cinephile, militant and pop spirit and will concentrate on the theme of LGBTQI rights through its film Competition, the Special Events and multidisciplinary Happenings in collaboration with top city products, all within the idea of the theatre as a location for experiences that may become a place for training, socialisation and sensorial, as well as visual, immersion.

Among the various initiatives announced in 2018, a special initiative will be inaugurated on the theme of rights, born following the collaboration – which took place during the 32nd edition - with 13 LGBTQI associations throughout the territory. Five key words will be selected within a debate with all these bodies - in collaboration with the Pride Coordination - and a dedicated film will be chosen for each one,. This focus will be introduced by in-depth research dedicated to the way in which the media depict LGBTQI persons, run by Diversity, the association founded by Francesca Vecchioni. The guests expected this year will include Robin Campillo, the past winner of the Gran Prix in Cannes and winner of the Queer Palm, with a tribute and a limited-number masterclass in collaboration with Franck Finance-Madureira, the President and founder of the Queer Palm in Cannes.
