For the occasion of the ON THE FRONT. Cameramen and photographers recount the Great War exhibition, screening of Maciste alpino (1916), in the version restored by the Cinema Museum.

Cinema Massimo – 3 February 2015, 8.45 p.m. - Screen Three

New date for MAGNIFICENT VISIONS - Permanent Festival of Restored Film, on Tuesday 3 February 2015 at 8.45 p.m. on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo, with the screening of Maciste alpino by Luigi Maggi and Luigi Romano Borgnetto. An undisputed masterpiece of Italian silent cinema, the film will be presented in the print restored by the Venice Biennale and the National Cinema Museum with L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory (restoration ended in 2014).

 

The screening will take place for the occasion of the ON THE FRONT. Cameramen and photographers recount the Great War exhibition (Mole Antonelliana, 29 January – 3 May). The film will have a recorded music accompaniment, composed and performed by Raffaele Casarano with his Locomotive quartet.

 

The evening will be introduced briefly by Claudia Gianetto (Head of the National Cinema Museum Film Archive) and by Davide Pozzi (Director of L’Immagine Ritrovata Laboratory in Bologna), who will meet the public after the screening. Repeat screening on Wednesday 4 at 4.00 p.m. Admission 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.
