For the PHANTOMS OF FORGOTTEN MEN. The Great Depression in Hollywood genres showcase, film screening of The most dangerous game by Ernest B. Schoedsack, Monday 13 May 2013 at 3.30 p.m. in the events room at the Library/Mediatheque. Introduced by Giulia Muggeo.

PHANTOMS OF FORGOTTEN MEN offers a selection of films – programmed at the Mario Gromo Library/Mediatheque in the month of May – which were produced in Hollywood during the years of the Great Depression and which work as an ideal mirror for understanding that type of economic crisis and the ensuing anxieties, disappointments and hopes. In this sense, cinema is offered as a valuable testimonial tool, which may be examined not only by cinema historians but also by those involved in economic and social disciplines.

The showcase is organised in collaboration with the Luigi Einaudi Foundation, DAMS – Turin University and curators Gruppo cinematografico universitario Ultracorpi.
