National Cinema Museum – Easter 2013

For the occasion the upcoming Easter festivities, the National Cinema Museum will be open regularly with the following hours:

Sunday 31 March - Easter

 9.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m.

Monday 1 April - Easter Monday

 (special opening) 9.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m.

 

Up to 12 May 2013 it is possible to visit the Gianini and Luzzati. Cartoons exhibition, presenting most of the original material from the films made by Giulio Gianini and Emanuele Luzzati for the first time.

With over two-hundred characters, sketches, set-designs, storyboards bearing witness to the creative process which gave birth to some of the masterpieces of worldwide animated cinema – thanks to the artistic partnership between two persons of rare sensibility – the exhibition is a clear-cut synthesis of the art by these two animators, who created a highly personal style in which theatre, poetry and design merge admirably into a unique cinema, also earning them two Oscar nominations, for The thieving magpie in 1964 and for Punchinello in 1973.

 

On Easter Monday – Monday 1 April 2013 – within the Family Special promotion at the National Cinema Museum, GUIDED TOURS for the whole family will be organised starting from 11.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m., to be booked by calling (+39) 011 8138564/5 (line open from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.), within three days prior to this date.

Admission free for juniors up to 18 years, concessions 7.00 euro for their escorters. One-hour tour 3.00 euro per person, free up to 4 years.

An exhibition for everybody, big and small, which will lead you through a fascinating and exclusive itinerary inside the magical world of Gianini and Luzzati’s cartoons.
