Ornette: Made in America

(Usa 1984, 77’, DCP, col., o.v. it. s/t)

Acclaimed saxophone player and free jazz innovator Ornette Coleman is at the core of this film, which does not wish to reconstruct his life, but to highlight his genius in a free style, in which performance, interviews and experimental musical videos blend with re-evocations of Coleman’s childhood. Original interviews and film footage with William S. Burroughs, Ed Blackwell, Robert Palmer and Denardo Coleman are included. Restored version by Ross Lipman and the UCLA Film & Television Archive.
