Cinema Massimo – From 2 April to first May 2016 – Screen Three

The successful monthly [Import] rendez-vous is continuing, with the aim of bringing the very latest films which received great accolades at international festivals, but did not find any distribution in Italy, to the cinema.

The films selected for April are several, dealing with themes like immigration, existential quests, revolution and fears for the future. They are Storm Children. Book One by Lav Diaz, one of the most innovative contemporary directors, Monk Comes Down the Mountain by Chen Kaige, returning to the troubled 1930s with a brilliant martial arts film, Cavalo Dinheiro by Pedro Costa, surrounded by his usual characters, and Stop by Kim Ki-duk in post-earthquake Japan.
