BRIEF ENCOUNTERS. Films by Todd Haynes showcase.

Cinema Massimo – from 13 to 24 February 2016 – Screen Three

The National Cinema Museum is offering a tribute to director Todd Haynes with a showcase titled BRIEF ENCOUNTERS, from 13 to 24 February at the Cinema Massimo. One of the most beloved and talented American indie filmmakers of the past twenty years, Todd Haynes boasts an unpredictable filmography, as he is capable of ranging from one genre to another, starting with an experimental style (having attracted the critics’ attention with his third short-film Superstar - The Karen Carpenter Story, which uses Barbies instead of real actors) and continuing with films that are deeply evocative, but also provoking, transgressive, delicate and refined, in the way he builds portraits of women out of the ordinary and depicts atmospheres and periods with the intelligence of passion.

6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.
