The National Cinema Museum presents the Beauty and sadness. 12 restorations by Mizoguchi Kenji showcase.

The National Cinema Museum will propose a retrospective titled Beauty and sadness. 12 restorations by Mizoguchi Kenji, from 7 to 30 May 2014 at the Cinema Massimo. This tribute dedicated to the great Japanese director, who died of leukaemia aged 58, features twelve of his most famous films, recently restored digitally, and is a National Cinema Museum project.

 

The showcase will be inaugurated on Wednesday 7 May at 8.30 p.m., on Screen Three at the Cinema Massimo, with the film screening of Fallen women (Gion no shimai), introduced to the public by Dario Tomasi. Admission 6.00/4.00/3.00 euro.
