A co-production of the Locarno International Film Festival and the National Cinema Museum.
The Exhibit at the Mole Antonelliana (September 16 2009 – January 10 2010) includes approximately forty Japanese and Italian movie posters, a rich selection of action figures belonging to Japanese studios and private collections, and a broad selection of preparatory drawings, cells and storyboards. As enrichment of the exhibit there will be also several original drawings from the Tokyo National Museum of Modern Art.
The Retrospective at the Cinema Massimo (September 16 – October 7 2009) will present variuos kind of anime, from early silent shorts to contemporary works for cinema and Tv.
Manga at the Library / Mediatheque (September 18 – December 19 2009) is a program featuring selections from some Tv series, as well as encounters with writers and directors who will discuss the topic of Japanese animation.
The Exhibit Market Manga, Via Montebello, in front of the Mole Antonelliana (Sunday December 13 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.), an opportunity for sale and exchange comics and objects open to both sellers and hobbists.
